Different Types of Edging
Garden edging comes in various materials, colors, and shapes. Depending on the aesthetic style you want to bring to your green spaces, you can choose from a multitude of models. First, you'll need to decide on the material: wood and bamboo, pebbles, bricks, concrete, natural stones, etc. Depending on what you've chosen, your edging can come in several colors. For natural stone garden edging, we offer black stones such as slate or schist, as well as beige or gray ones. These will create very different styles, from oriental gardens to Mediterranean oases. Finally, edging can take various forms. The two major elements to define are their height and width. For example, if you install flat slate tiles, you'll get a wide and low edging. If you choose to position them on edge, the border will appear thinner and taller.
Installing Garden Edging
Preparing the Site
The first step, even before installation, is to specify the trajectory of your edging. You can use a string for straight edging, or a garden hose for rounded beds. If necessary, "draw" this path in the ground using a spade and remove the grass for a clear delimitation. Then, if the chosen model requires it, you'll need to dig a trench slightly wider than your edging. For depth, this depends on the height of your edging. Make sure to include a few extra centimeters to prepare the cement or glue layer.
Installing the Edging
It's time to get down to business! Lay a bed of cement at the bottom of your trench. If you've fallen for natural stone edging, you'll find suitable installation products for this material in our e-shop. Then, install your edging and push them down with a mallet so they're well aligned.
Once the landscaping is finalized and completely dry, you can proceed to the final enhancements.. In some cases, this will include grouting. Otherwise, you'll just need to fill your trenches with soil to rebalance the terrain.
How Much Does Natural Stone Edging Cost?
The cost of garden edging varies based on the selected design. Natural stone is a premium material, making it pricier than cement or wood. However, it will add exceptional charm to your outdoor areas. In our digital marketplace, we strive to provide outstanding products at unbeatable prices. Prices for edging vary between $10 and $80 each. You'll find options that cater to every preference and financial plan.
